Profile
Thornton Manor is a Grade II listed, exclusive Elizabethan, 19th-century house set in the picturesque village of Thornton Hough on the border of Wirral and Cheshire. They have several luxury cottages and annexes, some including hot tubs and some which are even dog friendly. They have 4 incredible locations where ceremonies and celebrations can be held, and a further 22 bedrooms within the exclusive Manor house.
Project
Thornton Manor was looking to upgrade their phone system which was used in the Manors main office, for functions and other internal communications. They were using an NEC phone system which was due for an upgrade. The system was lacking in features which could be significantly improved. Their current phone system also used ISDN (integrated service digital network) lines which needed to upgrade to VoIP, as we are now leading up to the 2025 ISDN and PTSN switch-off.

The Solution
Having worked with Thornton Manor on a variety of occasions, Thornton Manor was extremely happy with the way in which we have worked with them previously and decided to go ahead with the installation of a new VoIP Cloud Phone system, following recommendations from Tech IP.
The phone system upgrade at Thornton Manor included a new VoIP phone service that provided users with new and upgraded features. For example, linking their desk phones to PC software, giving users the ability to dial phone numbers from their PC screen and access the phone system directory via a search and dial address book feature on the PC also.
Telephone call recording was also provided, and Tech IP assisted with new professional call greetings recorded in a studio environment by professional voice-over artists, which provides by far the most professional image and greeting to all callers.
General Manager Josh Griffiths was the main site contact working on this project with Tech IP and when asked he commented “Tech IP were already a trusted and professional supplier and after considering several options for this upgrade project, we felt confident to proceed with Tech IP. We have not been disappointed, and we have found the process of change to be very smooth with no downtime at all for our staff or customers. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Tech IP as a good company to work with for anyone looking to upgrade their systems in the future.”
