Read & Errington are Gas Central Heating, Plumbing & Renewable Energy Providers who have been keeping Lancashire warm for over 20 years. They were founded in 1996 and over the past 20-plus years, the company has followed a continuous path of steady and controlled growth. The company have been at the forefront of efficient energy in the area, promoting condensing boilers and energy-efficient controls, working closely with the energy-saving trust.
Overview
Read & Errington were looking into upgrading their current phone system to suit their ever-growing business. Their previous phone system was an old Samsung legacy one which they were looking to upgrade for multiple reasons.
The aims of this project were to upgrade to a new telephone system due to multiple factors, including the age of their current system, costs, a need for more flexibility (which was especially necessary due to employees working from home throughout the pandemic) and more administration control.
Solution
Having asked their IT provider for a recommendation, Tech IP were then introduced to Read & Errington to help discuss the specific needs of the phone system and to consider the best options available for their organisation. A key requirement was to ensure that everything ran smoothly with as little downtime as possible for the companies’ customers and staff whilst upgrading. Read & Errington received a tailored solution to their business designed to work best for their customers and staff whilst keeping the operating costs to a minimum with their new phone system upgrade.
Read & Errington then considered Tech IPs recommendations and chose to upgrade to a new VoIP cloud telephone system and VoIP-ready internet connection along with new phones, applications, and wireless headsets. Some of the outcomes of this switch were:
- A more current and up-to-date phone system with the latest technology
- Increased flexibility throughout the company whilst aiding staff working from home
- Increased administration control
- Integration with PCs and mobiles for out dialling
- New Plantronics wireless headsets for key staff
The Cloud phone system was installed in early July 2020 whilst most of the office staff were away from the office and working remotely. This meant that the system was prepared and ready for returning to normal after the lockdown and working restrictions were eased.
MD Adam Farrar commented, “We found the process of upgrading with Tech IP extremely smooth and whilst we have been using the system now for over a year and I would gladly recommend Tech IP to anyone looking for a decent local provider for phone system upgrades and Internet services.”
