In 2013 expanding business Barlow Trailers decided to refurbish their site at Leyland Preston and give it a face lift that could mirror their fantastic reputation. Established in 1970 Barlow Trailers is the top Distributor of specialist trailers in Lancashire and with sales stock of over 200 trailers, they wanted the job to run as smoothly as the trailers they supply.
With the refurbishment came the task of considering their telecom needs and looking at what was the best and most effective technology around at that time. They needed an expert in the field and for this they chose leading Lancashire-based telecoms company Tech IP, whose reputation left other telecoms companies trailing behind.
“We had an idea of the products and services that we would be needing for the refurbishment and it was just a case of who would be the best person to supply us with these and with the least amount of hassle. We contacted our IT provider in Preston to ask for advice and they recommended local telecoms company Tech IP as they were known to be leading experts in the field.”
When Barlow Trailers contacted Tech IP they were impressed with the support, advice and ideas provided.

Barlow Trailers wanted to update their old telephone system as it was becoming unreliable and costly to support. As part of the new refurbishment they also wanted to add extra telephones including cordless phones for certain areas and were keen to review current costs for telephone system maintenance and telephone line rentals and calls.
Tech IP quickly established that the company would need new network cabling for telephones and computers. They also recognised that in order to meet with the customers future goals, the new telephone system needed to include, updated features, updated phones and easy access support for changes and assistance. The new refurbishment also meant that the new phone system would need to be relocated to a new location to accommodate the refurbishment changes.
Taking all this into account, Tech IP set to work to find Barlow Trailers the right phone system that would enable them to meet all of their business requirements. That solution was the latest ‘state of the art’ Avaya IP Office System.

This along with the reduced telephone system support and maintenance cost available through Tech IP, saving on operating costs at over 70%, meant that Barlow Trailers were not only delighted with the services provided but were also able to cover the costs for the new technology over a period using the savings made.
