The Cisco 887 VoIP Router is part of Cisco 880 Series Integrated Services Routers (ISRs). They combine Internet access, security, voice, and wireless services onto a single, secure device that is simple to use and manage for small businesses and remote workers.
Its features include firewall, content filtering, VPNs, and Wireless LANs (WLANs). These can all deliver broadband speeds to small offices, making a small business seem bigger to its customers.
Please follow these instructions to connect your new Cisco 887VAM router up to the power and phone line. Refer to the diagram below.
- Connect the power cable to the power socket on the back of the router and 13-amp socket and switch on.
- Connect the phone cable to the router socket as shown below using the cable provided. Then connect to the phone line socket as shown. If there is only a single telephone socket on your telephone line box use one of the broadband filters provided with the router.
- Please send us a quick email back to confirm you have completed this. We will then try and connect to the router and carry out some basic tests.
A router is an essential part of your office’s Local Area Network (LAN). It can prioritise different types of data, improve network security, provide additional storage, allow remote network access, and more.
