Have you had any of your contacts ask why your telephone number is presenting as a possible “spam” phone call?
We have recently become aware of a new issue affecting some companies when calling Samsung Android mobile phones where numbers are appearing as a spam call.
We have found this can affect your outgoing calling when you are presenting any normal UK 01, 02 or 03 number to callers.
Why is this happening?
The issue has arisen because service providers are registering new technologies and services, to combat spam phone calls. The service is used to protect users from people making calls pretending to be someone or somewhere they are not.
We have found that even if your business number is not spam and your calls are legitimate, in some cases and specifically to Samsung Android mobiles, they may go through as spam.
This can happen if your number isn’t on the right list which the service providers use to determine whether your call is spam or genuine.
How to ‘un-spam’ your calls
The good news is that once identified, this problem can be easily resolved by contacting an organisation in the UK that manages these registrations and can update the records used to decide if your number is spam or not.
Samsung specifically uses SMART and the below link is the company which controls and updates this service.
All you need to do if this problem comes up for you/your business is follow the below link and submit a request via the online form to have your number updated as not spam and valid.
We recommend contacting these additional companies to ensure all critical calls reach their destination.
