For System Administrators (passwords and passcodes)
In this blog, we will be discussing the different passwords which you will need for your cloud telephone system, Including multiple separate passwords for administrators and users. These can get mixed up, but we want to help you understand the need for these passwords.
For the usual security reasons, the platform does not hold passwords anywhere. They are only sent directly from the platform via email to the registered email address when re-set. (Ensure to use a strong, secure password).
There are passwords for users and a password for any system administrators.
There is only one for administrators which is their admin password. This gives access to the platform programming/admin web portal for administration and system-wide user changes.
There are also 3 passwords available for users as below:
- Password – This is a password for the user to log into the web portal and manage their own phone settings, call history etc.
- Passcode – This is a numeric passcode that is used by the user to access their personal phone voicemail for DDI and internal call messages left.
- Client password – This is a password for all client applications such as PC software for call control or CRM integration, and phone software for PCs and smartphones. This gives the user their internal phone extension via an application as well as or instead of a phone.
