Remember the conversation where you tell your provider you’re switching mobile provider and they then proceed to spend the next thirty minutes explaining why it’s a bad idea? Maybe they make promises of improving their service or cutting your costs. Or do they simply try wearing you down to the point where you think nothing is worth this! Sound familiar?
One of the biggest hurdles in switching mobile provider is having to speak to your current provider. Wouldn’t it be great if when you saw that great deal for your business mobile phone that you could simply make the switch without all that hassle of talking to them? Well, as of 1st July 2019 you can do just that!
AutoSwitch, also known as PAC by SMS, is new legislation from Ofcom, the UK’s communications regulator. Its being implemented from 1st July 2019 throughout the Mobile industry and is aimed at simplifying the process of switching mobile providers for the end user.
How does Autoswitch work: 4 Simple Steps
- Customer requests a switching code from their current provider by texting a free number, going online or by calling their provider.
- Customer receives the code along with important account details, like any outstanding charges owed.
- When the customer is ready to switch, they give the code to their new provider.
- Service is switched within one working day. The old service ends on the same day, and there are no notice period charges to pay.
And it’s as simple as that. No awkward conversations, no long waiting games and no penalties to be paid. Just a quick switch and those great mobile phone deals are yours for the taking.
