Project
Altius group found Tech IP through a Google search in March 2021 when looking for a local supplier for a new business telephone system. They opted to use our services as we are a local business, and our product was a good fit for their requirements and the price was right.
Firstly, Altius wanted to upgrade their phone system from an older on-site NEC PBX system which was due a refresh, their system was outdated and difficult for the company to manage. They struggled to get in contact with their previous supplier when they had any issues and customer service requests, and wanted to find a new provider with better customer service levels.
Additionally, Altius group wanted to move their systems to the cloud, and with an upcoming office move, they didn’t want to pay for the old system to be moved when it was due a refresh anyways. It actually worked out more cost efficient for Altius group to upgrade before the move and not waste any more money on the old system.
Some of the risk factors to watch out for were the risk of downtime and the setting up of PC phones instead of physical handsets.
With the move, Altius group were trying to achieve:
- A more flexible, cloud-based phone system with PC softphones
- Options for mobile working with PC and mobile phone applications
- Lower cost of ownership
- Quicker changes when needed
- Detailed reporting on call traffic inbound and outbound to assist with marketing activities
Several meeting and presentations took place regarding the core phone system and PC and Mobile applications. We also provided Altius Group with a free demonstration user accounts for tests to be made on the phone system in house, before making their final purchasing decision.
Solution
Tech IP suggested PC and desk phones with USB headsets for 90% of the staff and blue tooth headsets for the remaining 10%. We also recommended cloud-based call recording and call reporting/monitoring.
The new system would allow the company to have more control over their phone system for changes and improved support functions whilst reaping the benefits for a Cloud Based Phone PC solution which was very simple to move when relocating.
The install took place in July 2021. Altius group faced none of the risk factors mentioned as we enable all of the user PC applications before moving away from the traditional phone system. This meant that the transition was seamless with no downtime at all.
We found Altius group an excellent company to work with and they were able to install the software themselves (as expected) with us providing support and configuration information and testing. We hope to work with them in the future with plans to expand their ever-growing business.
